Southern Tunnel Crossing - Abu Dhabi

The project is located at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The construction works were carried out by Taisei Corporation for the Southern Tunnel Project in Yas Island. The scope involved the removal of approximately 1,336,276 cu.m of trapped water from the cofferdam in a period of 26 days.

ACTION engineered the dewatering system to reduce the ground water level. Multi-stage wellpoint ground water control system were installed to maintain required water levels for the duration of works, in conjunction with a french drain and sump arrangement. The groundwater control system also consisted of bulk over pumping, complete with 24 hours supervision.
