Jebel Ali ‘L’ Station
Located in Jebel Ali, ‘L’ Station involved the construction of a 700MW, 70 million gallons/day power and desalination plant. The seawater intake system was built to meet the cooling requirements of the existing and proposed phases. Construction packages were divided into On-Shore Works and Off-Shore Works.
Off-shore civil works involved the construction of North, South and West Breakwaters that feed water into a Trash Rack and along an Intake Channel before finally turning into the Pump station. The excavation was successfully dewatered through the use of a peripheral deepwell dewatering system operating over 11 months.
