Key Accountabilities:

Supporting operational management in achieving compliance with client QHSE management systems, legislative requirements and standards including adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Promptly responding to all reports of unsafe conditions, unsafe activities, and incidents, near misses, which are received, from Action workers and subcontractors.

Taking prompt corrective action and advising HSE Team, Leads accordingly with regard to unsafe/unhealthy procedures, methods, facilities, equipment and substance.

Providing training and on-site specific coaching for staff in relation to Health and Safety policies, practice and procedures.

Conducting documented Inspections, recommended corrective actions on the prevention and elimination of hazards in the workplace and follow up on the closure of action items.

Stopping the job when risks are high and the job is outside the desired scope of work, and coaching the workforce in their right and responsibility in the stop authority.

Attending clients / main contractors and Action safety meeting as per the given schedule and reporting to the management if required.

Ensure adherence to Client’s/Project established safety rules, standard, codes of practice & providing professional direction, guidance and support to the site-based Safety Officers / workers as required.

Key requirements for the role:

  • Knowledge of QHSE local official regulations.

  • Must be tactful and diplomatic.

  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team.

  • Able to perform well under pressure.

  • Effective communication skills, with ability to deliver presentations and communicate issues clearly to the workers.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety officer role

  • Minimum High school with a Diploma.

  • Certification in Health & safety from a reputable institution.
